Martha Newton

Martha Newton has broad experience in initiating and leading enterprise-wide change initiatives at Fortune 100 companies. Her professional reputation is for turning aspirations into results by linking strategic planning, operations, and change management in the areas of merger integration, international marketing, research and development, new products, and operational risk management.

She has worked or consulted for the metro New York PBS television affiliate, Pfizer, Accenture, and Johnson & Johnson among others.

Currently she is Vice President, Operational Risk Management at Prudential Financial for four groups: the Customer Office, Multicultural Marketing, Leveraging Opportunities and the Center for Next Generation Growth.  Ms Newton joined Prudential in December 2011 as Vice President, Governance in the Office of the Corporate Secretary where she applied her skills to the complex processes that support the governance responsibilities of the Corporate Secretary and thereby the Board of Directors.

She serves on the New Jersey Regional Advisory Board of Teach for America. Her previous community service includes the Brooklyn Children’s Museum (Trustee 2006-2010) and the Studio Museum in Harlem (Acquisitions Committee member 2008-2009). She also co-chaired the David L. Evans Scholarship fund raising over $1M for scholarships at Harvard College.

A native of New Jersey, Ms. Newton graduated from Harvard College, Harvard University and the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She resides in Manhattan and Monmouth County, New Jersey.
